Indonesian Export-Import in January-March 2026

From January to March 2026, exports rose by 0.34% to US$66.85 billion, while imports surged 10.05% to US$61.30 billion, yielding a US$5.55 billion surplus.

Export

There was an increase in exports from January to March 2026; exports grew by 0.34% compared with the same period in 2025, with the manufacturing industry contributing the most at 3.15%, totaling US$54.98 billion.

Iron and Steel, Crude Palm Oil (CPO), and its derivatives, as the priority commodities, expanded by 0.56% and 3.56%, while coal decreased by 11.51%. The share of these commodities at 10.27%, 9.61%, and 8.65%, respectively.

China was the largest export destination, with a value of US$16.50 billion. This was dominated by iron and steel products (US$4,286 million), nickel (US$4,286 million), and mineral fuels (US$2,155 million).

Import

The amount of imports in January-March 2026 increased by 10.05% compared with the same period last year, mainly from supported raw materials, represented of 5%.

The total value of imports was US$ 61.30 billion, with oil and gas representing US$ 8.33 billion, while non-oil and gas accounted for US$ 52.97 billion.

China became the first importer of non-oil and gas products, with imports totaling US$ 22.02 billion. The products were predominantly machinery/mechanical equipment and the supporting parts, machinery/electrical equipment and the supporting parts, and vehicles and the supporting parts, at 23.18%, 22.20%, and 5.49%, respectively.
